Rotaractors from District 1140 had a great time whizzing round Wimbledon on Sunday 6th April taking part in an Easter Egg Treasure Hunt. Wimbledon Rotaract Club worked very hard to ensure an interesting route, difficult clues, and a Wimbledon-inspired challenge at each stop. Thanks largly to David's skills with a tennis racket, Woking Rotaract won!!
Well, as promised, we had much better weather for "Horsell Common Conservation Part II". On a glorious Sunday morning around 20 members of Rotaract District 1140 gathered at Horsell Common near Woking to do some work for the Horsell Common Preservation Society. Afterwards we were treated to a spectacular lunch of stone-baked pizza and burgers washed down with chilled beer. Thank you to the Society for looking after us so well.
On a rainy Sunday morning, members of Rotaract District 1140 gathered at Horsell Common near Woking to do some work for the Horsell Common Preservation Society. Despite heavy showers, we cleared small fir trees from a sizable area of the common. Fir trees are regarded as weeds on heathland, and it is important to keep them under control. We hope to return to the common next year, and this time our Community Officer promises to arrange better weather!
